Meet Alyson
Equal parts bodyworker, yoga teacher, creative, and traveler, Alyson weaves herself into every offering that she creates.
“The way Alyson shares herself and seems to know what others need is amazing.”
Alyson the Bodyworker
Alyson’s motto is: You can feel good, or you can feel better. The work she does may not always feel good, but you will feel better! Alyson has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2008 specializing in structural bodywork, famously incorporating hurt-so-good myofascial release techniques and other things borrowed from the worlds of PT and yoga. It’s deep and corrective work that’s tailored to you, and there is truly no one else who does what she does. Breathwork, energy work, Traditional Chinese Medicine, ART, and supervised self care are some of the things incorporated. Not only does Alyson love what she does, but she believes in “practice what you preach.” Receiving regular care means she’s stayed in business for 3 times as many years as the average. It also means she continues to learn from other talented professionals, and brings these skills to you! What’s more, Alyson possesses nourishing empath energy and a strong intuition which she uses in each session. Hands on touch is a powerful energetic exchange, and it pays to be picky about who you choose to see.

There is a difference between an instructor and a teacher, and Alyson is the latter. Good teachers are eternal students, tapped into the wisdom of a centuries-old practice. Alyson is known for being herself, so you can expect honesty, vulnerability, and humor. She likes to remind students that she is no different from them— that we are on this ride called life together. Classes are creative, empowering, and infused with an extensive knowledge of the body. Alyson tends to lean more toward a feel-good style of practice, with emphasis on slowing down rather than pushing. Sequences are developed to create a lot of connective tissue change, like a massage from the inside out, with well placed strength sprinkled in rather than “going hard.” Yoga is so much more than the physical practice— it’s a journey of the self, through the self, to the self, and Alyson’s hope is that we remember this every time we come to the mat.
